MERIDIEM _ PUBLIC CHAISE LOUNGE

Meridiem is the result of a cultural program, "POLSKA" which had been curated by CULTURA PL for the celebration of the 600th anniversary of Poland and Turkey.

The project involved 3 designers and 3 craftsmen from Poland and Turkey. 

The designers had the chance to visit Poland and meet their craftsmen partners in both countries.

Meridiem came out as an idea after observing people who sunbath around the rivers where there are mostly nothing but pebbles. The craftsman partner Szymon Slawiec's veneer application made it possible to apply the thin wooden layers onto concave metal. 

​

Meridiem allows people to turn towards sun lie a sunflower all times during the day.
